CHRONO TRIGGER WALKTHROUGH VERSION 1.0 CHRISTOPHER LEE BOGER leslumens@yahoo.com http://darken.0catch.com/goblin/ggdomain.htm QUICK NOTE: This is my first draft of this faq. It may not be complete in all the little secrets of the game as I know them. It is, as stated, mainly a walkthrough to get you through the game. It will get you to the end of the game and allow you to find all the treasure chests along the way. Now on to some Chrono quick notes..... Make sure that you rotate your party members often! If you don't constantly rotate your party members, it is possible that you may not be able to aquire all the triple tecs. If all party members who need a triple tech already have all their double techs, you will NOT learn the triple tech in question. Somebody must learn a double tech while the proper group is together in order to learn a triple tech. Now, on to the walkthrough. THE BEGINNING: After the short event, head downstairs. Then head outside and explore a bit. At the mayor's mansion you can get a lot of info and a tonic from a downstairs chest. Upstairs talk to the mayor twice for some GP, then grab some more from the chest behind him. Go to Leene Square and enter the Millennia Fair. You should have enough money to buy an Iron Blade, Bronze Helm, and Karate Gi to power Crono up a bit. Play some games if you wish, then proceed to the Northern half of the square. Run into the girl to set an event in motion. Pick up her pendant by standing in front of it and pressing A. Then go talk to the girl. Give her the pendant back when asked, then let her come with you. Eat the old man's lunch if you want. Talk to the cat, it will follow you. Lead it back to the little girl on the Eastern side of this section of the square. It's sort of hard to do, but do it. Talk tot he people North of Leene's Bell, then go earn yourself 40 silver points. Exit the square and save your game. If you have a turbo controller, the soda guzzling contest is the quickest and easiest way to earn silver points. Enter the Tent of Horrors and play the second game. It's hard, so you will probably end up having to reset and try again several times before you get it right. When you have finally won the clone, talk to either a shopkeep or the person sitting on the fountain in the South side of the square to set up Lucca at the farthest point North on the square. Go out and save your game again if you don't want to lose that clone during a reset Just wait on Marle until she selects some candy. Then go up to Lucca. Talk to everyone, then finally to Lucca. Climb up on the telepad. After you teleport, talk to Marle again. After Marle disappears, go up on the telepad and pick up the pendant. You'll emerge alone in a leafy glade and be attacked. Fight it out, then head West. Grab a tonic West of the bridge. Grab a Power Glove accessory from a chest South of the bridge. You can avoid the two critters at the bottom of the bridge if you wish. Head past them to emerge near town, but it doesn't look quite the same. Explore a bit, then head for Guardia Forest Save before you enter and sleep at the inn if you need to. GUARDIA FOREST: Go East first to fight a couple of battles. Approaching the shiny thing behind the rock on the South fork activates one of them. Now go back and go West. Follow the path going North at every opportunity to reach the castle. GUARDIA CASTLE: After a short event, you can go West and enter a basement. Talking to the girl will allow you to rest for free. You can grab an ether from a chest in the Eastern basement as well as triggering some events. Go to the Throne Room, but don't talk to the King just yet. Go up the Western stairs. You can grab a chest of gold in a room as you climb, and you will find Bronze Mail in the King's room. Now go to the Eastern stairs. Grab a tonic as you climb. Don't talk to the guard at the top yet. Now go back down and talk to the King and the Chancellor. You can chase the Chancellor and talk to him if you wish. Now it's time to go talk to the Queen. Don't miss grabbing the ether in her room. At the bottom of the stairs, after some events, Lucca will join your party. Head back through Guardia Forest to town. Buy Lucca the Dart Gun and Bronze Helm if you can afford it. Save and enter the Cathedral. CATHEDRAL: Talk to the Nun in front of the organ, then walk up to the sparkling thing and press A to start a fight. Work on the Naga-ettes individually unless you get a good opportunity to use a cyclone tech. Go with the Frog when asked. Play the organ by pressing A in front of it to open a secret door. Head West and grab some goodies from two chests. If you're careful, you can avoid the critters. Head up the stairs you see and enter the room at the top. Grab goodies and a Maiden Suit from the chests and search the drawer in the Western side of the room for the Naga- ette Bromide. This will trigger a fight. Exit the room and head North to grab a Steel Sabre from the chest. Now walk West and go around the spikes to the South. Press the switch on the wall West of the door to lower the spikes and enter. Find a power tab in the bucket here. Talk to the soldiers, then head all the way back and descend the stairs. Now head to the East and find the corresponding stairs. Go in the first door you see and talk to everyone, then go North and enter the door you see. Talk to everyone and fight the enemies, then proceed North. Grab the accessories from the chests, then leave the room. Now head all the way back to the lower floor and make your way up the central aisle. Go through the door and use the save point. You can grab a shelter from a chest in the West. Then go down the Western stairs, which will turn into a slide. Go past the napping guard and through the two doors. After a quick fight, grab goodies from the two chests. Then continue East and go through the Southern door. Push the skull switch on the wall and the spikes in a room will lower. Continue South and through a door to climb back up some stairs. You'll find a door in the North, so use it. After a fight, grab the Iron Sword from the chest and play the organ. Go back South and save, the slide back down the stairs which turned into a slide. You should now find a new door, so use it. Head North and locate another save point. Then go through the door. Head North to activate the event and battle Yakra. Use your powerful double techs if you have any. When you can't, use single techs. After the fight, open the chests for a mid ether and to release the real Chancellor. Talk to the Queen and you'll automatically be transported back to the castle. Frog will feel disgraced and leave. Now go up into the Queen's room and Marle will reappear. Say "wrong" when asked and then Marle will rejoin. Talk to Frog when you find him. Rest up in the Knight's Quarters then go to town. Buy any useful equipment you can afford. Now save and head back to Truce Canyon. Climb back to the top for an event and your return to the present. Head for the castle. If you want, build up GP in the forest and buy any equipment you can for Marle. If you really want to spend some time, you can get a Lode Sword for Crono from Melchior at the fair, though you'll get one for free in the next part. GUARDIA FOREST/CASTLE: Find a power tab near where the shiny thing was behind the rock in the past. then just head for the castle, save before you enter. You'll be put on trial after a short event. Say "I did", when asked who started this whole mess. If you took the old man's lunch, say "Well... yes", when asked if you've ever stolen anything. Otherwise say "No!". Say you had no interest in her fortune. You can be proven innocent, but it is difficult. Either way, you'll be imprisoned. GUARDIA DUNGEON: When you wake up, drink from the mug and use the save point. Then walk into the door three times to cause a guard to enter and fight you. Walk up behind him and press A to disable him, then fight the other guard. Now go up the stairs in the East. Straight across the next area you'll find another set of stairs down to use. Cross the bridge and fight the guard. Pull the switch and enter the room for some goodies. As you try to head back up the stairs, you'll get in another fight. Go back across the bridge and confront the Blue Shields blocking further progress. Use weapons on one and tech on the other. A single shot will tell you whether you are using the right choice against the right Shield. Go up the Eastern stairs and cross the bridge, getting into a fight. Go into the jail cell and save Fritz, then grab a chest from the room and pull the switch to open another door. Grab a chest from here and fight the critters. Now take the Northern path and fight your way to the stairs. Cross the bridge and use the stairs down just across from you. Use the switch to open the first jail cell and grab a chest. The second cell just contains a corpse, so head back up the stairs and confront the Blue Shields. Go up the Western stairs first. Go to the second jail cell and walk out the hole in the wall. Walk East, then climb South. Walk to the break in the platform, then climb South again. Walk West and climb South to reach a door and enter. Grab a shelter from the chest. Then press A to climb down the hole near the toilet. Grab big bucks and a Lode Sword from the chests. Walk back up to the toilet and press A to climb back up the hole. Now make your way back up and take the Eastern stairs this time. Follow the path and Lucca will come to your rescue. Use the save point, the ascend the stairs. You'll come into confrontation with the Dragon Tank. Use direct attacks on the head. Once you defeat the head, work on the rest of the tank. Fire Whirl tech works well. Walk across the Chancellor and guards back into the castle. Take a shelter from the nearby chest, then head down the stairs and run toward the front door of the castle. Marle will rejoin you and you'll exit the castle. Head East and an event will ensue, sending you hurtling through time once more. Walk up and press A in front of the gate to teleport. A BLEAK AND SNOWY LANDSCAPE: Exit the dome and head South. Enter Trann Dome. Buy Armor before you worry about the gun for Lucca. Use the enertron to recharge, then head to Lab 16. LAB 16: Avoid the tonic stealing little rodents. Head East, then North past a rat running straight across to get a Beserker accessory from a chest. Then head North toward the strange green bug. After defeating the beasties, head North and fight again, though you can avoid the battle if you wish. Avoid the rat and walk to a chest nearby. Confront the beasties and take the Lode Sword from the chest. Continue North, avoiding rats, and grab the Lode Bow from the chest in the crevasse where the rat stops each time for a few seconds. Confront the beasties, then continue North. Follow the path into the next area. The Shadows here can only be hurt by tech, so use Lucca's flame toss to good advantage. There's an ether in a chest to the Southwest. Finally head East and North to exit. Go to the next dome you see, which is Arris dome. Use the enertron, buy anything you need, then use the save point and go down the ladder South of the old man. FOOD STORAGE AREA: Head up the Western stairs. Follow the path across the beams and enter a room. Here you'll confront the Guardian. Destroy the bits first, then use normal attacks and Cyclone on the Guardian. It will revive the bits after five seconds, but just keep up the pattern and you'll win. Head in and watch the event. Grab the mid ether from the chest, then search the poor dead soul. Now head back. B button run to capture the rat. It's not easy. If you lose him, head out either North or South to reset the rat and try again. When you finally catch it, go back to the control panels. Stand in front of one, press and hold the L & R buttons, then press A. Now go through the door. Grab a chest in the North, then climb the stairs. Follow the path North and go down the stairs. Now head South and go up the stairs, then North to the door. Head onto the scaffolding, then get on another set, heading generally Northward. Eventually you'll come to a door. Walk in to access the computers from the control panel. Say, "Yes", you'll do it and exit the storage area. You'll get the Bike Key. Do any town business, then exit the dome and head for Lab 32. LAB 32: Grab a chest right as you enter, then head North. Search the Jet Bike. After the event, search the Jet Bike again. Use your B button turbo very carefully, you only have 3. Save the last on for a boost over the finish line. If you lose, you'll be stuck back at the beginning of the area. Keep trying until you win, or just walk through the lab, it's not that difficult. You can get the Log Book near the other entrance to the lab. Now go to Proto Dome. PROTO DOME: Just head North. There's an enertron if you wish to use it. Now search the robot. After the short event, select who will stay behind and head North to the Factory. FACTORY: Walk in and press A in front of the computer to override security. Beat up the creature, just use normal attacks to kill it. Go take the Western elevator. Head up and take the goodies from the chest, then go activate the computer. Use the save point whenever you feel the need. Now go down the ladder you just activated. Follow the path until you reach a door. Grab the Titan Vest from the chest in the West and the Hammer Arm from the East. Activate the computer to disable all defense lasers. Now get on the elevator and go down. Go grab the Plasma Gun in the North, Then head back up to the original level of the factory. Then take the Eastern elevator. Stay on the catwalks. You'll see a door in the North. Head North then East then search for some goodies. Then exit the room and head South (Not West) and take the first ladder. Walk West until you locate the chest with the Robin Bow. Now backtrack all the way to the ladder. Go East and go down this ladder. Go in the door and get on the conveyer belt. A crane will pick you up and drop you on a conveyer. Fight your way through several rooms of critters. When you're dumped off the belt, jump back on it while no critters are nearby and ride to the next exit South. Don't let any of the enemies touch you along the way. Grab the chest for an ether. Get back on the belt and ride it to an exit. Go through it all again, but this time when you are first dumped off, go through a door to the South. Climb the ladder and go through the door. Cross the catwalk and grab a tonic from a chest in the East. Then go through the door and take the two chests. Head out through another door to the West. Grab the two chests and exit the other door. Hit X then A to move a barrel, then press forward again and hit B then B to move another. Now make your way back outside. Go down the nearby ladder and head West. You'll find a door to the North. Grab the Bolt Sword from here, then head back out and all the way to the original level. Descend again to where you found the Plasma Gun, using the save point along the way. Activate the computer and press X A B Y. Then go through the open door and pull the switch. You'll have to flee in a hurry. Use the stairways to ascend since the elevators are out of action. Along the way you'll confront some robots. They'll trash Robo, then you'll have to deal with them. Use cyclone on each group of three, then finish them off with regular attacks. You'll drag Robo back to Lucca, who will have opened the door. She then repairs Robo. THE END OF TIME: After the event you'll arrive at the end of time. Talk to the old man to find things out. Choose your team, then go to the save point. Use the bucket above it to recharge your HP & MP then save. Start toward the pillars of light. Then come back and talk to the old man. Go into the Northern door with Crono, Lucca, and Marle. Walk three times clockwise from the door around the room, then talk to Spekkio. You'll get magic. You can take him on if you want, but you're probably not strong enough. Even if you lose, you won't die. Now exit the room and talk to the old man again. Now go hit the pillar farthest North which takes you to Medina village in the present. MEDINA VILLAGE: Go to the elder's house. There is a speed tab on the table right inside the door. There is a magic tab upstairs as well. You can grab a mid ether in the Forest Ruins to the North. Then head for a house in the West near a mountain. Melchior sells many fine things here. Buy what you can, then enter the mountain to the North after saving. HECKRAH CAVE: Follow the path Northward getting in a fight. Then go under the rock ledge and West to a ladder. Climb down it and grab ether from the chest. Climb down another ladder and head West. Use magic against the enemies here and then go down the stairs. Once again use magic against the enemies. Grab the two treasure chests then hit the Easternmost door going South. A few direct attacks should finish the Roly Polys which you find. Use magic against the bats, however. Grab the magic scarf from the chest, then head back up. Take the other door going South in the water room. Follow the path and locate a door, fighting critters along the way. Make your way up and get in the water. There's only one way to go, so take it. Use the save point when you reach it. Then head up the stairs. Confront Heckran, using magical attacks. Antipode works well. When he says, "Go ahead, try and attack!", DON'T! Wait for the counter attack break and then resume fighting. You'll eventually beat him. Head North and jump into the pool of water to be transported back to your hometown. BACK HOME AGAIN: Stop by Lucca's house and talk to her mother. Then go down and talk to Dad to get the Taban Vest for Lucca. Go into the Market to receive 10 mid ethers. Talk to Crono's mom to let her know you're all right and take a nap. Save up and head into the fair to hit the gate. Take the gate to 600 A.D. and head for the castle when you arrive. Talk to the Chancellor and the King. Then head for the bridge to the South. ZENAN BRIDGE: Talk to the Guard Captain. Then head back to the castle and down into the kitchen. Talk to the chef, then head out of the Castle. He'll give you the rations for the Knight Captain and a power tab. Head back to the bridge but remember to save before you enter it. Give the Knight Captain the rations. Then talk to him again and tell him you'll help to receive a Gold Helm. Run out and save again if you wish, the start across the bridge. Use fire based tech to wipe out the deceased. Ozzie will run, so chase him. Same deal the second time. Now Ozzie will summon a big beast called Zombor to attack. Don't use Lightening or Fire against the upper half. Antipode does a good job on the upper half, but heals the lower half, which you should take out first. Don't use ice against the lower half either. Once you finally defeat the critter, continue across the bridge. Enter the town you see and go to a residence. Talk to the old man and trade your Naga-ette Bromide for a magic tab in a drawer. Stop by Fiona's Villa on the way South and grab a couple of chests. Then go to Porre. Find a power tab in the market, which sells fine items. Do any town business, chat with everyone, then head to the cursed woods. The woods is slightly North and West of Porre. You enter it from the South. CURSED WOODS: Grab the mid tonic from a chest, then continue Northward. Grab a shelter and continue on. Walk in from behind the green bush in the North to enter an underground hideaway. Grab a magic scarf from an Eastern jar, then talk to Frog. Now exit the woods. Head back North near the town of Dorino to locate the Denadoro mountains and enter. Make sure and take Lucca here. DENADORO MOUNTAINS: Grab the gold from the chest. Head to the ladder to set off events. Hit goblins with hammers with Lucca's fire before attacking them. Don't use the ladder yet. Head North by walking in the water. Grab a Mirage Arm from a chest hidden in the leaves. Then go use the ladder. Head South and grab a chest, then head back North. Grab another chest West of the sleeping goblin. Continue North across the bridge and up the ladder. Grab the Gold Helm, then climb another ladder. Head West and find a chest at the bottom of a ladder in the South, then continue West. Climb the ladder and grab a chest. Climb another and head East. Climb the ladder and grab the chest, then continue North. You'll go through a series of non-stop fights. Battle your way through and then continue West. Grab the chest of gold and climb down into the water. Head North and grab the chest, then go South and over the waterfall. Head East then South then West and grab the Silver Earring from the chest. Backtrack and find the path North under the leaves. Make your way back to the area where you turned South to go over the falls. (North first when you emerge) Head North and find the path up onto the land on the West side. Grab goodies from the chest then go down the ladder. Then head West. Cross the bridge and talk to the puffalump several times to receive a magic tab, then head South. Use the save point you discover. Go down the ladder and grab the chest. Then go down another ladder. Search the leafy area West of this ladder for a speed tab. Then head East. Head South down the half ladder and grab a chest. Now go up the ladder and confront that jerk that keeps throwing rocks at you and beat him silly. Now go up the ladder and enter the cave. Tell the kid you're there for Masamune. Beat up on just one of the brothers. If you defeat one, they're both toast. Use high end tech to take them out quick. When they turn into Masa&Mune, use the pattern of high end tech, but watch your HP closely! You should beat him. Head North and walk up to the sword to receive the broken Masamune. Then you'll ride the wind to the base of the mountain. Go to Porre and talk to Tata at his house to receive the Hero Medal. Now go back to the Cursed Woods and talk to Frog again. Search the jar he moves out from in front of, then head back to the gate in Truce Canyon. Take the Medina Village pillar and go talk to Melchior. He'll mention Dreamstone, which hasn't been available forever. Head back to the cupboard and return to the End of Time. You should be strong enough now to challenge Spekkio. He'll give you a bunch of junk when you defeat him. Go to Mystic Mountain 65,000,000 B.C. Now. 65,000,000 B.C.: Follow Ayla when the events and battle are all over. Grab the Beserker accessory as you head South. Lightening weakens most dinosaurs. Head East when you exit the mountain to locate Ioka Village. Find the chief's hut and talk to Ayla. Run around and talk to everyone then come talk to Ayla again. Talk to your two party members, eating poi when asked. Then talk to Ayla again. Challenge her when asked. Hit the A button as fast as possible (Turbo is nice here!) Finally you'll win the Dreamstone. Talk to Ayla to wake her up. After the events and choosing your party, head outside. You can now use the trading house, so head up to the hunting range (A woods in the North) and fight enemies for those odd items that are used as money. Look for the vines that allow you to climb up onto the mossy areas. When it rains, head to the Southeast on these and look for the critter that appears. Fight it for lots of goodies. Sometimes he's on the ground in the Northeast. He's tough to beat, but he gives you lots of tech points, XP, gold, three of each item, and a Third Eye accessory. Here's the trading list for the house. Remember, three of each item listed! Petal+Fang=Ruby Gun, Petal+Horn=Sage Bow, Petal+Feather=Stone Arm, Fang+Horn=Flint Edge, Fang+Feather=Ruby Vest, Horn+Feather=Rock Helm. Whenever you're outfitted, talk to everyone in the village, then head South to the Forest maze. FOREST MAZE: Walk up to Kino. After the event, follow the footprints East. Grab a chest as soon as you pass into the trees. Go down the vine and grab another chest. Go down the vine East of the first one and head East over the tree bridge. Run to the Northwest and grab the chest. Go back to the bridge and South for another. Back to the bridge and head Northeast. Then go South for another chest. Head East and get up on the ledge. Follow it North, then just keep following it. You'll come to a fork where it goes North or West. Take the West fork and grab a chest. Then do a U-turn and come back to take the North fork. Just keep following this until it seems to dead end. Take the tricky path under the rock bridge to grab a chest, then go back to the West and under the rock bridge to locate an exit to the South. Go to the cave door and enter the Reptite lair. REPTITE LAIR: Follow the path and wait for the critters to dig holes. Wait for one to be dug in the Southeast, press A in front of it to go down it. You should fall into an area with a chest containing a full tonic. Grab it and wait for the critters to dig a hole. Fall down this hole. You'll have to battle a critter first. Go North and grab a full ether from a chest. When you battle the Megasaur, use lightening to stun it and decrease it's defense power. Then go South and try to fall in the hole. Battle the critters, then fall in the hole. Walk up and talk to the Reptite which isn't moving. Fight the critters and take the full ether from the chest. Then head to the Southwest and take a Rock Helm from a chest. Beat up the rest of the Reptites if you wish, then head through the door East. Fight your way North until you see a cave door to the West and use it. Climb all the ladders and fight the Winged Ape to reach the original room. Wait for one of the critters to dig a hole slightly South and East of the original hole (here automatically when you drop in) You should fall into a room with a chest containing a mid ether. Take it then fall down the first hole that was there. You should fall into a room containing a chest with a Ruby Vest. Use the hole to get back to the Reptites. If the Wevils don't want to dig holes where you want them, exit and come back to reset them. If you ever drop down a wrong hole, make your way down and back up, keep trying until you get all the chests. Once you've gotten them all, go past the Western cave door that leads back to the surface and confront the beasties in the far North. Use the save point which appears and ascend the stairs. Don't tell Azala anything about the key. He'll summon Nizbel to fight you. Use lightening, or better yet, Volt Bite, to keep him continually weakened. Have along someone with good healing abilities as well. Eventually you'll beat him and Azala will give you the Gate Key. You'll go back to Ioca Village now. Do any town business, then head back to the Mystic Mountain portal. Just keep climbing until you can go no higher and jump off the cliff into the portal. Head back to Medina Village 1000 A.D. once you get to the End of Time. Head back to Melchior and he'll reforge the Masamune. Go downstairs and talk to the team members to set the event in motion. Then head back to the End of Time again. Now go to Truce Canyon 600 A.D. Head to the Cursed Woods and talk to Frog. Watch the events, then go into Porre, do any town business and save. Now go to Magic Cave in the East. MAGIC CAVE: After some events, Frog will unseal the cave by taking up Masamune. Equip him with the Hero Medal as soon as you regain control. Then head back to the End of Time and get Frog the ability to use magic. Then come back and enter the cave. Make your way through the cave to emerge on an island. Go to Magus Lair, being sure to heal up and save first. MAGUS LAIR: Head North, then go West. Grab several chests, then do a U-turn and head East. Grab a chest then U-turn. Step on the "save point" after Ozzie makes his speech. Defeat the enemies and go East again. Save your MP for tougher fights, these guys aren't that tough. Beat all the critters as you head North to confront Flea. Talk to the kids and beat up the shadows with magic to receive a barrier item from the chest. Continue North and confront the others by talking to them. Finish them off with direct attacks. Attack Flea however it pleases you. Keep yourself healed up and quickly use heal item on anyone who is confused. The fight shouldn't be that tough. Take the magic tab you find when you win, then head back. Take the Western side of the castle on now. Beat the decedents and the Omni Crone, then head North. Beat another group, then head North again. Talk to the people and kick the decedent's rears. Check you stats and proceed North to confront Slash. Talk to him to start the fight. Use Masamune for direct attacks and Tech attacks from the other two. Slash will grab his sword next. Just use the direct attacks this time, but watch your HP much more closely. When you finally beat him, equip Slasher on Crono. You'll find it laying in the floor after the fight. Now use the Save point. Go to the "Save Point" in the center and you'll be teleported to a new area. Don't waste any MP on the critters here, though. When you get up near Ozzie, grab the chest and equip the Mist Robe before you walk directly in front of him. He'll flee. Run after him! Negotiate the blade traps carefully. Grab the Dark Mail from a chest and equip it. Grab the Doomfinger from a chest and equip it. Climb Northward, getting down on the chain nets when Rolys come by to avoid battle. If you get into a fight with a joker, use one magic then one direct attack then one magic and so on. Eventually you'll reach the top. Ozzie will drop you in a pit immediately upon entering the next area. There's a magic tab in one corner of the room you fall into, and several chests as well. After you grab these, start stepping on "save points". One of these is real, one is the teleporter to the surface, and the rest are enemies. Keep hitting them until you make it to the surface. Save when you get lucky. Carefully skirt the hole. Repeat this process until you reach Ozzie again. Climb to the top in the next area avoiding the Roly things which explode doing damage to you when you kill them. Head North, killing your enemies and conserving your MP's. Don't forget how to take out Jokers, though. Grab the Speed Belt from the chest and continue on. Head North, confronting the enemies that leap from behind the statues. Grab the chest and head through the door. Grab the two chests before you confront Ozzie. Equip the Mist Robe and talk to Ozzie. When the battle starts, attack the winches, not Ozzie. Eventually he'll drop through the floor. Use the Eastern save point and save. Then go to the Western one, which is actually a teleporter. Go down the stairs and don't worry about the bats. Walk North until you reach Magus. Talk to Magus to get the battle started. Use the barrier item you acquired first thing. Then use the Masamune to attack, watching your HP closely. Use the windows that pop up to know what magic to attack with. Hit him with a weapon if it's a kind you don't have in the party at the moment. Once Magus begins "risking" casting spells, beat on him with whatever is handy and keep yourself fully healed. Eventually you'll take him out. Watch the events and you'll be sucked into a gate. Watch the strange set of events, and you'll wake up in Prehistoria. Someone says the North Wood is burning, so head up and check it out. You'll see a hut in the middle of the forest. Go in and talk to everyone in the Laruba Ruins, then head North to the Dactyl Nest. DACTYL NEST: Head North under the rock bridge until you confront the Avian Rex creatures. Kill them, then climb up the handholds. Grab the chest, then head West and South. Grab another chest and head North. Climb the handholds and go East. Climb the handholds and go North under the rock bridge. Climb more handholds and head South. Grab Meso Mail from a chest near handholds, then climb. Head North for more handholds then continue North to watch Ayla summon the Dactyl. Go talk to her to gain the Dactyls. Now go to the village and do any town business, then save. Finally fly to the East and find the Tyrano Lair. TYRANO LAIR: Head North. Enter the dinosaur skull in the East and climb down the stairs you find there. When you reach the jail cells press the round button next to the door. The cave men will flee. Now head East, beat up the reptites, then go down the stairs. Beat up the reptites, then open the cell door and release Kino. You'll have to walk up to the bars and search them. Ayla will release Kino Follow him, then use the Western dinosaur skull upstairs. Go up the stairs you find behind it. Step on the two buttons and drop the critters in the basement, then go out the Eastern door. Go to the door you discover in the East. Take the Western egglike thing for a tonic. The other one is a switch which drops you into a basement. Now back to the room where you dropped the critters. Take the Western door this time. Once through it, take the door in the West you find. Head North until you see one of those egg shaped chests, then go after it. You'll be teleported, so head North and grab a tonic. Go West around the hole in the floor, then go South. Don't go after the chest you see in the West, keep going South on the Eastern side of the hole you encounter. Grab a Ceratopper from the chest. Now go East until you reach the door where you entered this room. Go North and pass two small holes on your East side. When you come to the large hole in the North, turn East. When you are teleported, go North and grab the revive from the chest. Now walk South, watching the hole in the East. When you reach the point where it stair steps out toward you, turn toward it. You should be teleported to a chest containing Meso Mail. Now make your way to the stairs in the Northwest and use them. Go out the door to the South, the East past the closed door to another door. Enter it. Step on the Eastern switch to open the skull's mouth and enter it. Press the button you find, then head back out onto the balcony. Now you'll find that closed door open, so use it. You can talk to Nizbel if you want, he won't attack you. Go around him and use the save point. Go North, and now Nizbel 2 will attack you. A great combination is Crono, Ayla, and Marle with the haste spell. If you use Lightening on Nizbel, then have Ayla attack, while Marle keeps everyone healed and casts haste on the other two, he'll barely get an attack in edgewise. Recover at the save point, then head back to the stairs and ascend. Head South out of the door onto the balcony. Head East as far as you can and enter the door you find here. Step on the switch in the center and North of the other two to activate a save point. Walk up to the skull and search it to open it's mouth. Enter and search the chests for an ether, then push the switch. Go back out and save, then head back on the balcony. go west and North at the first opportunity to find a new door opened and use it. Grab a mid ether and a Cera Topper from the chests once you talk to Azala, then head through the doorway. Cross the long bridge and confront Azala and the Black Tyrano. Work on Azala first. Once you have him beaten down, use normal attacks on the Black Tyro. When it says "Defense lowered, building power", start attacking for real. Volt Bite works nicely and once again the haste spell comes in handy. Make sure you heal yourself up to max while he's building power, cause what he's building up to is a doozy! After the big attack, wait for him to drop defenses again before you open up on him with tech once more. When you finally beat him, Azala will crawl past you and some events will ensue. Kino will arrive with Dactyls to get you home. Lavos will crash directly into the Tyrano Lair. After a few more events, heal up and save, then go to the Lair Ruins. Don't forget to go to the village and do any town business if you need to. Use the gate you find and you'll be transported to 12,000 B.C. Head South then East from the cave to reach the Skyway and enter. Step on the design in the floor and ascend or descend. Enter the town you find here. Save before you do. ENHASA: Find the three books and open them in this order: Water, Air, Fire to open a secret passageway. Challenge the Nu when you talk to him and he asks it. Heal yourself with a tonic when reduced to one HP. Falcon hit works nicely because of the way the critters line up. You'll get a magic tab and a speed tab for defeating them. Have a talk with everyone, charge up on items and such, then head out. Go up and take the land bridge. Head North to find the next Skyway. Now enter the town of Kajar. Save first. KAJAR: Same ticket with the books here to open a secret passage and discover a Black Rock relic. Talk to everyone, then head to the cave so you can make your way to the palace. Keep going in caves and using teleporters until you reach the palace. ZEAL PALACE: Talk to everyone in the main rooms before going through any doors. Say, sure, I'll scratch your back to the Nu. Now if you go back to Kajar and talk to the Nu in the room where the guy is making magic tabs, he'll give you one. Tell the woman to plant the thing not burn it!!!! Go to the central door and watch the events. Then go to the Mammon machine behind the Western door. Charge up the pendant by searching the machine. It will now open the sealed doors in the future and the sealed chests everywhere. It will also open the forest ruins near Medina Village 1000 A.D. Head back to the central door and search the sealed door to enter. Walk into the room and watch the events which ensue. Then you'll have to fight Golem, who is one tough mother. Use tech attacks or he'll use Iron Orb and reduce your HP by half. Assign one person to heal and use the other two to do a big magic based dual tech. Once you beat him, Dalton will get ticked and seal you in a pyramid. Schala will rescue you, but the prophet will catch her and force you through the portal, having Schala seal it behind you. Jump back on the Dactyls and return to the village. Do town business then head for the portal to the End of Time. Once there, take the portal to 2300 A.D. and make your way to Bangor dome. Open the sealed door and take a Charm Top, full ether, and a wallet from the chests. Use the portal and then the one in Guardia Forest 1000 A.D. for a Power Ring, then return. Head on to Trann Dome and open the sealed door for a full ether, a Gold Stud, and a magic tab on the floor. Then head for the Sewer Access. SEWER ACCESS: Descend the ladder and head East. Collect the gold from the chest, then head back and go West. Watch the short event, then follow the frogs. Once down the stairs, head East. Don't talk to anything, search anything, kick anything, etc. (even the save point) or Fishmen will fight you. Just follow the winding path and ascend the ladder. Head North and keep pressing against the East wall until you enter a secret passage. Go through it and pull the switch, then head back. Go North and then East behind the building to emerge South from the doorway. Go North and grab the Rage Band from the chest then head East and fight Crawlie. You should have no trouble with Crawlie, so once you've kicked his rear, head South. The ladder you eventually come to in the North leads out but skip it for the moment and grab the Bolt Sword from the chest and pull the switch. Then go back and use the ladder outside. Go South and enter Keepers Dome. Open the sealed door, then follow the path, searching the glowing things for more info. Open the other sealed door and enter the room. Go North of the ship to set events in motion. Head back South and try to exit the door. A Nu will come in pushing something. After the event, push A near the seats to enter, then take off. Head to the present first (though you can go back inside this room and find a magic tab first) TREASURE HUNTING!: Go South to Porre. Search two sealed chests in the Mayor's mansion for a Black Vest and a White Vest. Now go back to your hometown and grab the chest upstairs at the inn for a Blue Vest. Go to Lucca's house and talk to her father to get the Taban Suit and Taban Helm. Go back to the End of Time and take the portal to 1000 a.d. Medina Village. Head into Hekarah Cave and collect the Wall Ring and the Dark Ring from the chest. Stop at the Forest Ruins North of Medina Village and collect one of the chests. The left one contains a Safe Helm with 38 defense that cuts physical damage by 1\2. The right one contains the Swallow Sword for Crono which has 145 attack power and increases his speed by 3. Now head to the middle ages. Enter Magic Cave and collect the Magic Ring. Head to Guardia Forest and collect a speed tab from a chest and a power tab from the ground in the East. Then head back to the Dark Ages. Head West, then North once you arrive to reach Terra Cave. Climb the ladder and go West. There is a guy who sells stuff in the first cave. There's a free inn near the bottom. Once you've done your town business, use the save point and head into the Cave of the Beast and the Mountain of Woe. MOUNTAIN OF WOE: Collect a power tab right inside the door from the floor. Head North and you'll confront beasts. Every attack you hit them with increases their attack power, so use strong attacks and beat on them one at a time. Continue North and confront two more. Continue North and confront the Red Beast, Blue Beast, and Mud Imp. Don't use fire against the Red Beast. Don't hit the Mud Imp or he'll heal all of your enemies. Flame works well against the Blue Beast. You'll need to use big magic based tech (Volt Bite works nicely once more. I REALLY like that tech!) to kill the Mud Imp or he'll heal himself more than you can damage him each time. Climb the chain as if it were stairs to reach the Mountain of Woe after you beat all them. That rock critter you see first thing is a rubble. These are worth 1000 XP and 100 tech points, so take advantage of them to power up whoever needs it. They prevent you from using techs or items, and are hard to hit, but they don't attack. If you beat on them long enough, they'll croak. Head North first. Cross a chain and fight a rubble. Then head South and go under a rock bridge to the West. Collect the Lode Helm from the chest and equip it. Then return to the original area. Cross the chain immediately to the West this time and then head North and climb the chain to the next level. Head West and confront a rubble. Then head North and use the save point you find here. Go under the rock bridge and continue North. Cross the chain to the East. Grab a Lode Vest and a shield item from the chests. Confront the rubble if you wish. Now head West as far as you can and collect a barrier item from a chest. Head back East and climb the rock formation to the South. Go on the West side when offered two paths. Collect the Lapis from a chest. Then go back to the South a bit and head East across the chain. Follow the only path there is and climb down the chain. Walk East and collect the item from the chest. Go South and confront a rubble, the walk onto the rock shelf and proceed to the next area. Grab the Lapis item from the chest, then head back East. Take the chain leading East when you are presented with it and a Northern one to collect a full ether and lapis item. Then go back and take the Northern chain. The man eaters here use confuse attacks, so be careful. Proceed North under the rock bridge then head West. Confront the rubble and head South. Get up on the rock shelf and go South. Confront the man eaters and take the shield item and shelter from the chests. Head back North and cross the chain to the East. Follow the path, use the save point, and head up the chain. Follow the path and collect the Time Hat on the way. Don't miss the magic tab on the ground, or the full ether in the chest before you take the chain North. Walk North and confront Giga Gaia. Work on the hands first. They'll regenerate, but keep taking them out. Attacks like falcon hit work well to finish them off quickly, and at the same time. When you have the chance, focus on the body and use big techs. Charming him will get you a speed tab by the way. Once you beat him, Melchior, the Guru of Reason, appears and the Mountain of Woe falls. After some events, talk to Melchior and receive the Ruby Knife to disable the Mammon Machine. Do any town business and then head for the skyway. Don't forget to save before you enter Zeal Palace, which is where you are headed. OCEAN PALACE: There is a save point inside the Queen's hall if you foolishly forgot to save outside. Once you reach the Queen's hall, You'll have to confront Dalton. He uses iron orb to attack, and every time you attack him as a counter attack. Just keep hitting him and healing. Dual techs work well since they do good damage and only one from the pair receives a counter attack. Once you beat him, head to the portal that Dalton opened. Use the save point, then talk to the Masamune brother. You'll want a party with widely varied magic while in here, as most creatures are not affected by weapons or any magic except their specific weakness very well. Red Scouts are affected by fire, Scouters by lightening, Blue Scouts by water. Collect the Rune Blade to the South Behind a pillar. Now head East. Along the Eastern wall you should find a passageway. Enter it and kill the guards, taking an Aeon Helm from the chest. Then go through the door which is in the Northwest corner of the room. Step on the switch and fight the creatures. Hit the Barghest first, then exit the room and collect the Aeon Suit from the chest. There is a doorway just South of here, use it and collect the Kaiser Arm from the chest. Exit the room and head North and West. Almost directly across on the Western wall from the first door you entered you will find another. You'll have to walk behind a pillar to reach here. Here is another switch for you to step on. After passing through this room into another, collect the Star Sword from the chest. Exit the room and find the Southwestern door. It's directly across from where you found the Kaiser Arm. Collect the Shockwave Gun from the first room. Walk North along a narrow pathway and around the island South and West. Follow it and locate a secret passage near a statue. Get the Demon Hit Sword from the chest. Then cross the bridge to the island. (If there is no bridge, you forgot to activate one of the switches) Grab the Sonic Arrow from the chest to the South. Then walk across the bridge leading East and step on the switch in the center. Exit the room and you should discover a door now in the dead center of the South wall. Use it. If you want, step on the blue diamond switches on the islands. These fights will net you a Lapis item each time. If you go out and save, then come back, these will reactivate. It's a good way to build a reserve on these useful items, as long as you have enough shelters to keep you healthy. Go down the stairs you find in the West to the next area. Continue descending, fighting at the landings. Talk to the Masamune brother to set some events in motion. Finish descending the stairs and use the save point. Go through the door South, fight the creatures. Go press the Western switch to cause the elevator to descend. Fight all the way down. Go through the Northern door when you stop and then head West. Confront the enemies and pull the switch. Go to the Eastern door and repeat the process. Now go step on the switch in the center of the main room. Cross the bridge, and use the door. Cross the bridge, grab the elixer from the chest. Use the save point and enter the door. Head North and confront Dalton. You are probably more resistant to magic attacks than physical ones, so use magical attacks. (Luminare is nice!) Keep yourself healed and kick butt. Dalton will start to summon Golem Boss, but leaves and saves his skin. Head forward and talk to the Nu, then proceed forward. Watch events and you'll use the Red Knife to stop the Mammon Machine (Creating the Masamune by the way) Lavos will come. Strike the thing if you get a chance, but you can't win. The prophet (Magus) will appear. After some events, take control of Crono and approach Lavos. Crono will be killed! Then Schala will teleport you all away. The Kingdom of Zeal will fall and a tidal wave will cause great destruction. You'll awaken in the Earthbound Village. Choose your party (Have Ayla leading! I can't stress this enough!) and use the save point. Explore the village, saving the Commons in the trees for last. Stock up on items at the hut if you need to. Talk to the Elder and Dalton will appear, you'll be captured and taken to the Blackbird. BLACKBIRD: Use the save point and climb the ladder. Press A to enter the airduct. Head West to the first intersection. Then head South, then West again. Go down the ladder and confront the critters to get one of your peoples equipment back. Go out the door, avoid the critter and go up the conveyer belt. Head West and enter the room to get your money back. Make your way North and up the next escalator. Enter the door to the West and fight the critters for your items. Now go back down and pull the switch to reverse the escalator and enter the guarded Eastern door. Fight the critters to take back another of your peoples equipment. Now go to the Western door and fight the critter. Climb the stairs and follow the path to another ladder. Go down it and get your last person back their equipment. Now go East, North, East, South, East, and finally North to collect a magic tab. Make your way back to the intersection and go West to reach a ladder. head South and flip the switch on the conveyer to make it go South. Descend and enter the door you find nearby. Continue North and go through the next door, then climb the ladder. Head West on the wing until you reach the Southwestern corner. Golem Boss will appear. Just beat on him. He's afraid of heights and will eventually teleport away, so don't worry about wasting any tech or items. Just hit him with weapons until he flees. Then watch events and jump onto Epoch and fight Dalton for it. Use dual techs to avoid so many Iron Orb counter attacks. Use Twin Charm to get a power meal from him. When you beat him he'll try to summon the Golem Boss and get sucked into a portal. Hit the buttons when asked and you'll shoot down the Blackbird. You'll land at Earthbound Village. Do any town business. The Nu who sells stuff now has new things to buy. Then head to the North Cape. Put Frog in the party and go search the glowing thing. After the events, say no you don't want to fight Magus. Turn to leave and Magus will join you. Go back and do any town business, then board the Epoch. Watch the events. Then head for the End of Time. Talk to the old man. Walk toward Epoch when he stops talking. When he says "Hey", go back and talk to him again. You'll get the Chrono Trigger. Now get back on board Epoch and head for the present. Go to Crono's house and talk to his mom upstairs. Then search the clone to take it with you (If you haven't won it yet, you'll have to do it now.) Now head to the future and keeper's dome. Head in and talk to the Nu. Go talk to the Nu and shut him off. Now, on to Death's Peak. DEATH'S PEAK: This is not easy. Start up B button running. When you get to the doll, talk to it. It'll turn into a tree for you to stand behind when the wind gusts. You can just stand still at this first tree on the first attempt, but after that you'll have to stay within a certain zone to avoid being blown off the mountain. If you have a controller with Slo-Mo, by all means, PLUG THAT PUPPY IN!!!!! It makes it much easier. In fact, I find that a Fighter Stick style controller with turbo and slow-mo is becoming nearly a requisite for RPG's and Castlevania, at least for certain points. I would have never got through Death's peak, the Poi eating, or ever gotten one of Edgar's (Final Fantasy 3e) more complicated blitzes to work without it. But, back to the story now.... Do the same thing at the next tree, staying within the zone. Then run like crazy to the North to finally clear this infuriating section of the game. When you finally accomplish it, turn off your slo-mo and unpause if necessary (I'm really assuming you had to do this. If you managed it in real time, WHOA! I'm not worthy!) Head West and grab a Magic Ring from a chest, then climb the handholds. Head South, then East, and use more handholds. Head East to the next area. Head East. Make your way to the creek and locate a save point. You'll find a Wall Ring in a chest nearby as well. Use the save point, then get back on the rock shelf and go North to enter a cave. Confront the Lavos Spawn. Only attack it's head and you should defeat it fairly easily. Collect the Giga Arm from the chest, then head North through the cave. Follow the path outside back into the cave. Collect the Brave Sword from a chest. Then head South out of the cave. Walk on the ledge to the Northwest and search the glowing spot to open another door. Make your way back through the cave to the save point. Then head to the new cave entrance. Collect the Star Scythe from the chest and continue North through the door. Go confront the Lavos Spawn. Head West once you beat him to the next area. Talk to the doll. He'll tell you it's slippery. Go West across the bridge, trying to stay in the center of the bridge. You'll land at the save point if you slip. Eventually you'll make it across. Try to avoid all the critters and grab a Vendic Blade from the chest, still avoiding all the critters, head South to the next area. Go West to the next one. Talk to the doll and climb down the handholds to the West. Follow the path and confront the Lavos Spawn. When you beat it, push it's shell over to the handholds just East and North. Then press A to climb the shell and finish climbing the handholds. Grab a Memory Cap from the East, then go North to the tree at the summit. Have Lucca or Marle in the party to add to the events which occur here. Talk to Crono when you get to Lavos and you'll exchange the clone for him. You'll reappear at the End of time. Go jump on Epoch and head for Prehistoria. Go to the Laruba ruins and talk to the Nu. He'll give you the Silver Rock. Now go to the hunting range and build up on items to trade for Ruby Armor. Once you've done that, head for the future. Go to Sun Palace and confront Son of Sun by searching the shiny spot. Attack the outer ring of flames. When you hit the right one, you'll damage Son of Sun. Keep healed and search for the right one after each Roulette. Eventually you'll beat him. Head North and collect the Moon Stone. Now go back to Prehistoria. Place the Moonstone in the sunny spot at Sun Keep, then head to the future. The stone will be missing, so go back to the present. Someone in this era must have stolen it. There is a conspicuous glowing at the Mayor's Manor in Porre. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to know a thing about it. Go to the Snail Stop in town and cough up 9900 gold for some jerky. Then go to the middle ages. Go to the Elder's house and give the green haired lady the jerky. (Give it to her, don't sell it!) Now head back to the present. Go back to the Mayor's Mansion and now he'll give you the Moon Stone. Put it back in Sun Keep and go back to the future again. Put Lucca in the party and search the Sun Stone. Lucca and her father will create some items for you. Now head to the middle ages and find Ozzie's fort. It's where Medina Village is in the present. OZZIE'S FORT: After Ozzie runs, head forward and confront him. Flea will come and fight you. He (she, it?) shouldn't be too tough. Head on Northward when you win. Continue Northward and watch the scene in the next room, then Northward again. Slash shouldn't be too tough in the next room either. Continue North once you beat him. Resist the temptation to take the chest and continue on. When Ozzie vanishes, go grab the full ether from the chest. Then continue on. Now you have to confront all three. Work on one of them at a time to eliminate the triple technique. Work on them one at a time and they're not so tough. Save Ozzie for last. Take the Sight Cap and the Dash Ring after Ozzie runs. Then head North and confront Ozzie once more. Attack one of the switches and Ozzie will dump you in a hole. Come back up and attack him again. A cat will walk casually into the scene and dump Ozzie in a pit. Then go back to the present and see how much friendlier the Mystics are to you. Head to the middle ages. Talk to Toma and the guy who looks like Lucca's dad. Then head back to the present. Go to West Cape and search the headstone to pour pop over it. Toma will tell you where the Rainbow Shell is. Then go to the Inn and talk to the guy who looks like Lucca's Pop. Then talk to his wife in the residence to receive the tools. Now back to the middle ages. Give the tools to the guy at the Inn, then go to his house on the South side of town. Now go to the Northern Ruins. Talk to the carpenter, then beat up every monster you can find in the place. Grab a hyper ether from a chest as well. Though if you leave it, you can get it twice by getting it in the present first. Now go back to the carpenter's house and talk to him again. Pay up the 2000 gold and then go back to the ruins. Go into the Western door and make your way to the tombstone with Frog in the party. After some events the Masamune will power up. So get that Hero Medal back on Frog. Now go back and fork over another 2000 G. Head back and talk to the carpenter. Now go to the present. Enter and collect hyper ether, Kali Blade, Siren Bow, Nova Armor, elixer, and a magic tab near Cyrus grave. Then go back to the middle ages and do it again. Now go to Porre and the elder's house. Collect the Black and White Vests again. Grab the chest upstairs at Truce Inn as well. Now head to the Giant's claw. GIANTS CLAW: You'll want Crono here to shock the crud out of dinosaurs. Grab a Sight Cap from the chest. Now go East and find a cave door. Don't use lightening on Lizardactyls. Activate the switches in the floor until you make holes, then fall in them. Step on the Western switch and go North to find a power tab. Then head South to the next area. Head East, then climb down a ladder South. Collect a well hidden Zodiac Cape from a chest in the West. Go grab a lapis in the East, then climb down another ladder and head West to the door. Go in the Western skull and up the stairs. Hit the Eastern button and dump the critter, then go through the door. Fight the Rubbles, then continue through the door. Hit the switch and fall. Go West and up the stairs to grab a power tab. Then go through the skulls and head back to the room where you dropped the monkeys, taking the Western door. Grab a Frenzy Band here. Then head back. Double Charm Fossil Apes for megalixers and Lizardactyls for hyper ethers. Head to the Eastern door again. This time when you trigger the switch and fall, head to the Eastern stairs and use them. Use the save point and press the button to open the door. Grab a chest and continue North. Walk to the Eastern side of the Rust Tyro to start a fight. Beat the crud out of him however feels appropriate. You can charm him for Red Mail. Then continue North and search the Rainbow Shell. Head South and you'll receive help at Guardia Castle. Put Frog in the party and talk to Queen Leene. For some reason they don't seem to react to Magus. Now head to the present and put Marle in the party. Go to Guardia Castle. After the event, head upstairs from the East, and enter the courtroom. Grab a hyper ether from the chest as you go. After the event, head down and go into the basement. Fight the snakes, grab a lapis, elixer, and hyper ether. Continue North and fight several times. Grab the three chests you can reach. Then search the Rainbow Shell. Head back to the courtroom with the Prism Shard. Talk to the guards and set events in motion. Now battle Yakra XIII. Beat the crud out of him with strong tech. After you beat him, watch the events. After everything is over, go back up to the courtroom and collect the Yakra Key on the floor. Now head down the stairs and open the locked chest to release the Chancellor. (again) Now head up the stairs to the King's room. Along the way grab an elixer and the Red Vest. Then grab a chest in the King's room. Now head to the other stairs and go to Nadia's room. Grab a hyper ether and a megalixer on this trip. Head to the Rainbow Shell and talk to Melchior to get either a Prism Dress or three Prism Helms. Go for the Dress. Talk to Melchior again and get the Prism Specs. Talk to him again and get the Rainbow Sword Go to town and do any town business. Then head back to Guardia Castle in the middle ages and collect the Red Vest again. Then head for the future. GENO DOME: This is one of the best places there is to power up, so don't finish this adventure until you have powered up your characters as much as you wish. This dome is not on the mainland and may only be reached by flying Epoch. Have Robo at the head of the party when you enter and activate the computer. Then go forward and jump on the conveyer belt. Ride it and fight several continuous fights. After you exit the conveyer belt, go East then North. Enter the door here for a lapis and an elixer. Then head back to where you first entered. There are two paths North just West of the entrance door. Take the closest of these. Grab a full tonic from the chest. The guard who energizes in the pod sometimes returns. If you follow him, he will open a door for you heading to two chests. Otherwise energize in the pod here. Run South then East. Pull the switch and enter the pod to unlock the door. Enter and grab the chests. Now go to the pod room again. Head North through a nearby door and find an area in the far North with three switches. Set them in the order red, green, red, to open another pod. Go energize and enter this pod to open the door and get the doll. Now locate the elevator in the South part of this area. It's behind a door similar to those you've been unsealing but not locked. Ride it up to the next floor. Use the save point, since it's there. Enter the Northern door and grab a power tab from the floor just inside the door, then continue North. Keep going North until you reach an elevator and use it. Now go West through the secret passage and activate the switch to reverse the conveyer belt. Then head South and deactivate the laser with the nearby switch. Then head back to the elevator. Exit the elevator corridor to return to the main room. Head South and collect the lapis from the chest. (you'll have to approach from the South) Now head West with Robo in the lead. He'll leap up and pull a switch near the laser curtain to deactivate it. Grab the megalixer and exit the room. Continue West and use the ladder to get on the catwalk. Grab the chest and continue North through the door. Go through the door in the East after the event and grab a chest. Then backtrack all the way up the ladder Head back to the original elevator and use it to return to the first floor. Energize in the pod and turn South, then East, then North. Get on the conveyer belt and jump off it West to reach a pod and open a door. Grab a chest here, then talk to the guard to get it following you. Keep the guard following you all the way past the Northern exit to the energize pod. Take the Next Northern passage. Use the guard to short out the other one and take the Vigil Hat from the chest. Then take the doll. Now head back upstairs. Confront Robo's girlfriend. Don't worry too much about tech, just beat on her. Eventually she'll regain her memory and before she passes away she'll give Robo a ribbon to incorporate in his circuits. This increases Robo's powers. Now at any time you can place the two dolls on the green flashing pads in the Northwest and open the door to confront Mother Brain. If you want to power up, however, use the dust chute to keep looping through the conveyer belt sequence and gaining not only XP,GP, and tech points, but also handy shield and barrier items. Whenever you're done, put the dolls on the flashing pads and go through the open door. Attack the displays first, then beat on Mother Brain. Keep your HP high and use heal to stop her when she locks or confuses you. You should win and receive the Terra and Crisis Arms. Now hop back in the time machine and head off to the middle ages. Make your way to Fiona's Villa and the Sunken Cave in the Desert. Walk to the center of the quicksand to be sucked down. DESERT CAVE: You'll want someone with water magic in here, as it weakens the creatures defense power like lightening did with dinos. Collect a lapis from a chest shortly after entering. Now head South and collect an Aeon Suit from a chest in the Southeast corner. Then head West and collect an elixer from the Southwestern corner. Make note of the stairs in the South, but leave them for now. Head North and grab a full ether from the chest in the Northwestern corner. Now go down those stairs you saw in the South. Avoid the critter which you see surfacing here and grab the seven chests. Included in these are a Muscle Ring, Aeon Helm, and Memory Cap. Then go after the beast. Attack with water to weaken it every other attack or so, then beat on the thing. Attack it one piece at a time. Eventually you'll beat it. Now on to Fiona's, but don't miss a power tab upstairs in the sand before you do. Put Robo in the lead of the party and talk to Fiona. Say yes, he can stay behind. Get back in the time machine with Lucca leading the party and head to the present. Go to Fiona's shrine. You should save before entering. You can purchase Vigil Hats here, do so. They protect party member status. Save if you buy them. I try and have them on everybody. Then go up and talk to Robo. He'll reactivate his systems and you'll camp out in the woods. Everyone will go to sleep, and you'll find yourself in control of Lucca. Head South and East to locate a gate and use it. Read the paper on the floor. Go downstairs and out of the Southern door. Watch the events. Then face the sparkling thing and hit the buttons L A R A in sequence to stop the machine. Then go back to the portal. When you emerge, you'll receive the Green Dream accessory which will auto reanimate whoever is wearing it once. Go talk to Lucca's mom to see a happy occurrence. Now it's time to hit the Black Omen. BLACK OMEN: Go to the Dark Ages and fly up to the Black Omen. When it's name appears, enter by pressing A. Head North and watch the events, then fight the Laser Defense and enter the door. The Queen will emerge again and summon a beastie. Beat up on the Mega Mutant one piece at a time to defeat it. If you have Vigil Hats it should be no trouble. Continue North. Beat the critter on the left wall with weapons and the one on the right with tech. Hitting the creatures when their shields are turned to the side allows you to smash them quickly. Follow the path fighting battles until you see the save point in the East and use it. Then head North through the door. Just fight your way North to the door in the next area as well. Make your way North, fighting the boss orbs which are worth big tech points. You'll get more if you kill the sidekicks before they run away. In the next area, just fight your way North to the Beam Pod and use it. Exit the room, get on the elevator and fight your way down. Then go through the door. Head East then North. Follow the path. Right before some stairs, grab a megalixer in the East. Grab some GP from a chest in the Northwest of the area atop the stairs, then go through the door. Make your way North and don't miss the Magic Seal in the chest to the East. Then go through the door. Grab the elixer and Vigil Hat from the chests. Head North, grab meagalixer and Nova Armor from the chests. Use the save point and head North. Grab megalixer and Haste Helm from the chests. You can buy items from the Western Nu. When you are done shopping, go North and search the wall to open a door and proceed through it. Telling the Eastern Nu you wish to wake up will send you back to the beginning where you may reboard Epoch. Follow the path. Watch out for the Tubster because he uses a strong counterattack each time you attack him. Antipode heals him by the way. Proceed through the door. Go North up some stairs and such. Grab a Zodiac Cape from a chest where the steady stream of ruminators is coming out. Then head East through the door. Head East. Grab a Megalixer from a chest, then continue East and proceed through the Southern door. Take the Western path and grab the power seal from the chest. Head South, don't miss the speed tab in the Southeast. Then hit the door in the Southwest. Head East past the door and grab a chest with a speed tab. Then go through the door and step on the transporter. Head North out the door. Turn West when you get a chance. Grab an elixer from the chest, then head North. Continue following the path, grabbing a speed tab from a chest. Hit the aliens with some big tech, as they use a Death Spell to counterattack. Grab a megalixer from a chest to the South, then continue West. Then head North through a door. Use the save point. Use tech against the Giga Mutants you find in the North. Then go use the save point again after you beat it, because it sucks MP. Proceed North through the door and use the transporter. Proceed South out of the door and use the elevator. Proceed North through the door when you stop. There's only one way to go in the next area, so just follow the path to the door. Grab the chest and use the save point which appears when you defeat the panels. Proceed North and attack the Terra Mutant with tech. Charm it for some good items. Finally, grab the White Rock and the megalixer form the chests. Then use the save point again. Then proceed North through the door. Proceed North through the door. Then fight the Lavos Spawn, attacking only the head. Then proceed North through the door. Head as far North as possible and confront the panels. Use the save point, then the door that appear when you win. Head North and confront the Queen in the next area. Just beat on her with weapons and watch out for the Hallation attack. It's a good idea to have twin healers in the party. Marle and Frog with their double cure works especially well. You'll have to confront the Mammon Machine now. It turns attacks into defense, so use tech attacks. It turns techs into attack power, but if you kill it quickly enough with big techs, it won't matter. Just keep it up and watch your HP. Now confront the Queen in her most powerful form. Don't hesitate to use elixers and megalixers if it seems appropriate. Attack only her head. Attacking her hands will net you nothing but major losses of your HP and MP. Techs work against the head, so use them to your advantage. When you beat her, she awakens Lavos. Heal yourself up, then go confront him. Kill the little underlings each time he changes, you'll have a chance to heal each time he changes attack modes. Remember how you beat the beast that shows up in the flashback and use the same pattern. When Lavos screams and no flashback occurs, you confront him in his natural attack form. If you have status protecting items equipped it shouldn't be all that tough a fight. Just beat on him and watch your HP. Now you're inside Lavos' shell. Use the save point. The gate takes you to the End of Time. Head North once you've saved and confront Lavos. Watch your HP and beat up his arms first, starting with the Western one. Then work on the body. Beware of him shutting off defensive status (which will even disable Vigil Helms and the like) and confusing your characters. Heal them fast! Eventually you'll beat him. Now confront the Lavos Core. Attack the Western bit and finish it off first, then go after the Core. Keep killing that Western bit each time it revives. Definitely don't be afraid to use megalixers. Whenever you manage to eliminate the first two, work on the third for a while. Repeat the pattern each time a revive occurs. Eventually you'll beat them all. Haste will help. This is a very long battle, but eventually you'll win if you fight carefully. When you regain control at the moonlight parade, talk to everyone then head North to Lucca's transporter machine. When you regain control again, go talk to the King.
