(Q) Why can't I (Get the princess to leave with me, Get the Staff of Rain, Get the Rainbow Drop, Form the Rainbow Bridge)? (A) You must be using version .37 of RPGe's english patch for the game. What you need to do is make a "Save State" right before you talk to Gwaelin, A Shrine Guardian, or form the bridge. You will then need to switch to an unpatched ROM and play through the event. After the event has passed, you can continue using the partial english patch. A longer explanation is available in the full Text FAQ, or in the Emulation Info section of the online FAQ, which you should really read. This section contains several important notes similar to this.

(A) Pass through Swamp Cave. Swamp Cave is South of the town of Kol.Once through the cave, head South. Skirt around the desert you see here. Do not take the path between the mountains you see to the West.
Continue South around the tail end of the mountains and enter the island town of Rimuldar.

(A) In the town of Rimuldar, you must be curious enough to take an extra step to reach the key cutter's shop in the Northwest corner of town.
Go North at the entrance of town. Walk along the town wall and enter the Key Cutter's shop in the Northwest corner of town. PURPOSELY BLANK SPACE TO PROTECT YOU FROM HINTS YOU DON'T WANT PURPOSELY BLANK SPACE TO PROTECT YOU FROM HINTS YOU DON'T WANT PURPOSELY BLANK SPACE TO PROTECT YOU FROM HINTS YOU DON'T WANT (Q) Where is Erdrick's Armor (A) Erdrick's Armor is buried beneath a tree in the destroyed town of Hauksness. Head East upon entering town. Skirt around the destroyed building to the South. Head East until you see a path between the two buildings to the North. Head North when you reach this.
You should see a swamp to the East. There will be a single tree square just past this swamp. The tree tile has a square of grass in front of it, then the swamp closest to you.
On the grass tile you will find Erdrick's Armor, and the Guardian is in the swamp right in front of it. PURPOSELY BLANK SPACE TO PROTECT YOU FROM HINTS YOU DON'T WANT PURPOSELY BLANK SPACE TO PROTECT YOU FROM HINTS YOU DON'T WANT PURPOSELY BLANK SPACE TO PROTECT YOU FROM HINTS YOU DON'T WANT (Q) Where is Erdrick's Sword? (A) In a hidden room in Charlock Castle. FIRST FLOOR: Head West and follow the curving path. Avoid the door you see, as it leads to a dead end. The one in the East does as well, if you're curious. Keep following this path until you reach the throne in the middle of the barrier. Stand dead center behind the throne and search to find the secret stairs to the second floor. SECOND FLOOR: Open the door and follow the path, which leads generally South. The path you see North shortly is a small dead end alcove. Keep following this path until it forks in the Southern area of the floor. Here you will be offered a choice of two paths which go farther East, take the Northern one. Almost immediately after taking this path, you will notice a small alcove dipping to the South. Pass this one up, but just a short walk East and you will find another one. Wander around in this area, the stairs to the next floor are near the center of this alcove. THIRD FLOOR: Immediately upon entering this floor, you have a choice of North or West. Take the Western path. Follow this winding path, skipping an alcove West and a dead end path East. You will reach a corner and be forced East right after this. Once on this path you will be forced North, then turn East. You'll then be turned South and presented with two paths. Take the one which is due South. Follow this to the Southern wall and wander around in the space here without entering the dead end path. You should find the stairs near the center of this area. FOURTH FLOOR: If you go West, there are two chests containing some GP and an Herb if you feel you are in need of it. Grab the chests if you wish, then head back and go East. You'll soon see an alcove formed by a lower case "n" shaped wall. In the middle of this alcove is a staircase, but it leads to a dead end. Continue past this to the West. Near where the path turns South, wander around the corner to find the stairs down to the next floor. FIFTH FLOOR: Head South and make your way toward the torches. Near the one that is farthest North you will find a set of stairs back to the Fourth Floor you need to use. FOURTH FLOOR (2): Head Southward. Near the Southeastern point you should find stairs back to the Third Floor which you need to use. THIRD FLOOR (2): Head toward the Northeast torch and find the stairs back up to the Second Floor. SECOND FLOOR (2): Head up and claim Erdrick's Sword from the chest and equip it. (A) From Hauksness, head South to a bridge near the sea. Cross this bridge and head Northeast.
You should shortly come to a bridge. Cross this bridge East and you should see a huge swamp.
Enter this swamp and head East until the swamp narrows down to a single square wide. Stop on the last square of the narrow area.
Walk 6 steps due East from here. Search here and you will discover the Token. If you use Gwaelin's Love while standing above the token, it will say you are 140 North and 80 West of Tantegel Castle.
